This Insight Day is intended for (BIG-registered) professionals working in mental health care, universities, and research institutes with an interest in (intensive) trauma treatment and innovation in (complex) PTSD.
You will be welcomed by Dr. Suzy Matthijssen, director of the PSYTREC Academy, or Prof. Dr. Ad de Jongh, professor affiliated with the PSYTREC Academy. Together with members of the research team, they will provide an introduction to our unique treatment programme. This is followed by a guided tour of the facility.
You will then observe a double therapy session (Prolonged Exposure and EMDR therapy), participate in a walk & talk in the adjacent forest, join us for lunch, and attend the multidisciplinary team meeting.
Afterwards, you will again observe a double therapy session (Prolonged Exposure and EMDR therapy) and a walk & talk, during which you will have the opportunity to ask questions to the therapist.
The day will be jointly concluded, with ample time for all your questions.
PSYTREC is a specialised mental health care treatment centre for people with (complex) post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). We provide evidence-based, intensive, and short-term trauma treatments, aiming for sustainable recovery and regaining control over daily life.
PSYTREC works according to an innovative and multidisciplinary treatment model, in which proven effective methods such as EMDR therapy and imaginal exposure play a central role. Treatment and diagnostics are closely integrated with scientific research, ensuring continuous mutual strengthening between care and knowledge development.
We stand for high-quality, accessible, and transparent care, with attention both to the individual client and to broader societal impact. Through close collaboration with universities, research centres, and healthcare professionals, PSYTREC actively contributes to the ongoing development of trauma treatment, both nationally and internationally.
Through this Insight Day, we offer the opportunity to actively shadow and spend a full day with a therapist, allowing participants to observe and experience our work in practice.
